About RahamaRooted in Community. Committed to Care.
Established in 1996 by Alhaji Ali Zarma Ngulde and Late Sister Fati Ali Zarma, Rahama Medical and Maternity Clinic is a trusted healthcare institution dedicated to providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality healthcare services to women, children, families, and communities. Widely known as "Asibitin Sister Fati," the clinic has served as a cornerstone of healthcare delivery in Maiduguri and surrounding communities for nearly three decades.
The clinic operates a 14-bed capacity facility with a functional theatre suite and provides both outpatient and inpatient services through a team of qualified healthcare professionals and consultant specialists. Our commitment to excellence, patient safety, and compassionate care has enabled us to continuously expand our services while maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice.
Our scope of services includes consultant-led Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Surgery, Paediatrics, Family Medicine, Maternal and Newborn Health, Nutrition Services, Preventive Healthcare, Community Health Programmes, Health Education, Disease Prevention, and Referral Services.
Rahama Medical and Maternity Clinic has a strong track record in implementing public health interventions and supporting national health priorities. The facility was a beneficiary of the Additional Financing for Nigerian State Health Investment Project (AF-NSHIP), supported through the World Bank, for a period of four years (2017-2021). This support contributed significantly to strengthening health service delivery, improving maternal and child health outcomes, and enhancing access to quality healthcare services within the host communities and provided free Medical and Surgical Care to the vulnerable population.
For more than ten years, the clinic has served as a Tuberculosis Treatment Centre under the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Programme (NTBLCP). Through this partnership, Rahama Medical and Maternity Clinic has successfully supported the treatment and cure of more than 2,000 tuberculosis patients while maintaining an exceptional case fatality rate of less than 0.1%. This achievement reflects our commitment to evidence-based care, patient follow-up, treatment adherence support, and quality clinical management.
The clinic maintains strong referral linkages with secondary and tertiary healthcare institutions, ensuring that patients requiring advanced care receive timely and appropriate treatment. We continue to collaborate with government agencies, development partners, professional bodies, and international organizations to strengthen healthcare systems and improve health outcomes for vulnerable populations.
Today, Rahama Medical and Maternity Clinic remains committed to safe motherhood, child survival, disease prevention, health promotion, and the delivery of quality healthcare services that transform lives and build healthier communities.
